Hi, everyone, I am JipingHu, a graduate student at Marquette University. Presently I am developing a website, namely "upitr", which will provide a lot of good features, including integrating Twitter OAuth, spreading a link or post quickly, exploring what people up and like recently. You can spread your articles, images, videos around websites and any text-based post by Upitr. For each story (we call each submission from you as a story) you can add some vote options, which means you can sponsor a voting, a survey, something like that and also more important thing is it's a quick response or comment on a story for some of users who don't like (or are lazy ) to type. I think it's really nice.
So why do I plan to work on this project?
I want to improve myself in programming by ASP.net MVC. I would say a little bit about my background. I achieved my undergraduate study in 2005 in Beijing and majored in computer science. Then I worked for four years at two different IT companies before I came to Marquette University. One is Grandsoft which providing desktop software for construction industry, and this company is NO.1 in China in this area and another one is Minesage Co., Ltd which is a close partner with Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, Seattle. When I worked at the Minesage, I got some experience in developing web sites which attracts me deeply. I think it's very interesting, but it's really difficult for me to finish a whole project as my expericence and knowledge in this field is insufficient. I need to improve myself, so I ask myself in my heart: Can I give myself a chance to try to finish a real project? Finally I found the answer it's Yes!!! Another reason is that I am really enjoying web development. It's more exciting than developing desktop programs for me.
What do I want to say in this blog?
I just want to write down some useful tips and experience in the whole process of developing a website (based on Asp.net MVC), that's it!!! Hope it will be useful for other people.
What's the plan for this blog?
Right now I don't know all the details about my plan to update this blog, and I am busy for this project development and my study, but the core idea what I want to say is to record useful information about how to design, how to implement some features, how to conquer some difficult technical problems. The content may include html, css, javascript, Asp.net MVC, everything about developing and running a real website. I hope I can do it well here:) and hope you guys enjoy it. Thanks.
